Our Team

Bryan Cooper, Executive Director

Bryan is the Executive Director of Arts Amplified, a creative initiative of The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation. He leads the organization’s efforts to connect local artists with businesses, nonprofits, and community spaces to grow Charleston’s creative economy. Under his leadership, Arts Amplified has established an active board and several committees to help guide its mission and programming.

Bryan earned a BA in Sociology from West Virginia University, where he was also a member of the WVU Drumline. He spent 20 years working in Information Technology as a web designer, support analyst, and IT director—experience that continues to inform his work, especially in using technology to support and elevate the arts.

Since moving to Charleston in 2012, Bryan and his family have been proud to call the city home. He has long been involved in the arts as a volunteer with local theaters, supporter of live music, and behind-the-scenes helper for fellow artists. At Arts Amplified, Bryan champions all forms of creativity—visual, musical, literary, culinary, and performing—with the goal of making the arts an integral part of Charleston’s culture and community life.

In his free time, Bryan enjoys playing board games, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
